Canadian Immigration Court Issues Deportation Order for Former Iranian Deputy Interior Minister

The Canadian immigration court issued a deportation order for the former deputy minister of interior of Iran.

On Wednesday, March 21, the Canadian immigration court issued a deportation order for the former deputy minister of interior of Iran.

Salman Samani is the second high-ranking official of the Iranian government to be deported from Canada under the sanctions imposed in 2022.

Salman Samani, 43, traveled to Canada on a tourist visa issued to him in Ankara, but upon arrival in the country, he was questioned about his past involvement with the Iranian government.

Kirk Dickinson, a member of the Immigration and Refugee Board, announced on Wednesday that Mr. Samani had significant influence in the Iranian government, which is unacceptable to the Canadian government.
