A Canadian newspaper has reported that the Canadian government has initiated the case of deporting a senior Iranian government official who was found to be living in Toronto.
According to this report, Salman Samani, a 42-year-old former Deputy Minister of the Interior of Iran, is facing deportation due to sanctions imposed on officials of this country a year ago.
The Canada Border Services Agency has requested the Immigration and Refugee Board to hold a hearing to review this matter.
This hearing is scheduled to take place on January 3, 2024.
