Cancellation of Iranian Foreign Minister’s Trip to India Due to Promotional Video

Indian media reported that the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic canceled his trip to New Delhi to attend a conference hosted by the Indian government due to the presence of two seconds of Iranian women cutting their hair in the conference’s promotional video.

According to Etemad Online, quoting the Indian Express newspaper, on Friday, February 17, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, the Foreign Minister, refrained from attending the gathering after India ignored Tehran’s request to remove these two seconds from the video.

The governments of New Delhi and Tehran have not yet reacted to this report.
