Caspian Sea Water Retreat Has Troubled the Movement of Large Ships

The receding of the Caspian Sea has created problems for the movement of large ships.

Saeed Rasouli, acting head of Iran’s Ports and Maritime Organization, announced that the receding water at the coasts and the reduced depth have created problems for the movement of large ships in the Caspian Sea.

For this reason, some docks have become practically unusable.

This situation, in addition to reducing export capacity, has also affected the development plans of the ports.

Officials from the Ports and Maritime Organization say that if the water level continues to drop, there will be a need for extensive dredging and a review of the infrastructure.
