CENTCOM Commander: The scale of the first 24 hours of operations against Iran was twice that of the 2003 Iraq invasion
The commander of the United States Central Command, CENTCOM, released the latest information about military operations in Iran in a video on the X network.
He mentioned the ‘shock and awe’ operation during the 2003 Iraq invasion, stating that the scale of the first 24 hours of operations against Iran was almost twice that of that operation.
According to him, the United States has attacked nearly 2,000 targets in Iran and destroyed 17 Iranian vessels.
Senior Admiral Brad Cooper stated that today, not a single Iranian vessel is moving in the Persian Gulf, the Strait of Hormuz, or the Sea of Oman.
He added that this mission involved over 50,000 troops, 200 fighter jets, two aircraft carriers, and bombers, making it the largest deployment of U.S. forces in the Middle East in a generation.
He also said that they have severely weakened Iran’s air defense systems and destroyed hundreds of ballistic missiles, launch platforms, and Iranian drones.
In response, this American commander announced that Iran has fired more than 500 ballistic missiles and 2,000 drones, claiming that these attacks have indiscriminately targeted civilians.
