CENTCOM: Four Crew Members Killed in Crash of U.S. Refueling Plane in Iraq
The U.S. military command in the CENTCOM region announced that in the crash of a KC-135 refueling plane in the skies over Iraq, four out of six crew members lost their lives, and the plane’s crash was not due to enemy or friendly fire.
CENTCOM announced in a statement on Thursday that a U.S. Air Force KC-135 refueling plane crashed in the skies over Iraq, and in this incident, four out of six crew members perished.
In a post published on the social network X, it was mentioned that the conditions of the crash are under investigation and the incident occurred in friendly airspace. Additionally, a second plane involved in the incident landed safely.
Following CENTCOM’s announcement, Reuters reported that the Islamic Resistance militia group in Iraq claimed responsibility for the attack on the plane, although CENTCOM emphasized that the crash was not due to enemy or friendly fire.
