CENTCOM Held a Meeting with Military Commanders from 12 Regional Countries in Bahrain on the Security of the Strait of Hormuz

CENTCOM held a meeting of military commanders from 12 regional countries in Bahrain regarding the security of the Strait of Hormuz.

The United States Central Command, CENTCOM, announced that military commanders from 12 regional countries discussed the security situation in the Middle East and strengthening defense cooperation at a security meeting hosted by Bahrain.

This meeting was attended by Brad Cooper, the commander of CENTCOM, and military officials from Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, the United Arab Emirates, and Yemen.

According to a CENTCOM statement, the participants emphasized their shared commitment to maintaining freedom of navigation and the continued free flow of commerce through the Strait of Hormuz.

Brad Cooper also said that the United States will continue to closely cooperate with its regional partners and considered this meeting a sign of the participating countries’ shared commitment to the security and stability of the region.

CENTCOM also announced that this is the first time that military commanders from Syria and Lebanon have participated in a U.S.-led regional defense meeting.
