Ceremony Honoring Iranian Coach and Afghan Futsal National Team Held in Mashhad

A ceremony honoring the Iranian head coach and the Afghan national futsal players was held in Mashhad.

The ceremony honoring the Iranian head coach and the Afghan national futsal players in Mashhad was attended by members of the Afghan consulate.

Under the guidance of Majid Mortazavi, this team made a surprising impact in the Asian Cup and, for the first time, secured a spot in the World Cup. Mortazavi has stated that despite the offers he has received, he is not willing to leave the Afghan national team.

At the ceremony, where the team’s Mashhadi head coach wore traditional Afghan attire, a businessman from Herat donated 20 lakh Afghanis as a reward to the manager and head coach of the national team to be distributed among the team members.

The Afghan national futsal team’s online media wrote, ‘We hope this initiative inspires other wealthy individuals in the country, whose money is overflowing, so that such achievements are not forgotten.’

Previously, a ceremony was also held by the Foreign Nationals Affairs Department of Tehran’s governorship for the members of the Afghan national futsal team.
