The representative of Chabahar used the country’s conditions as a pretext to implement the protection plan
Moeinuddin Saeedi, the representative of Chabahar in the Parliament, said that what was proposed as the protection plan was practically implemented under the pretext of the country’s conditions.
This member of Parliament mentioned that regarding the lifting of restrictions imposed on social networks, Mr. Raisi should look back at his pre-election promises and definitely take action to remove the restrictions that have been imposed in the virtual space.
He also added that the fact that officials can continuously tweet and express their opinions on Instagram, while the people do not have access, is a clear example of discrimination and is in contradiction with Article 3 of the Constitution.
It is said that one of the main goals of the so-called protection plan is the widespread filtering of networks and internet services for the Iranian people after the internal infrastructure is provided.
Instagram, which is one of the most popular social networks in Iran, and the messaging app WhatsApp were filtered following the start of protests over the death of Mahsa Amini while in custody by the morality police. These protests began in September of this year.
