Chain Stores in Tehran Limit the Sale of Mineral Water

Tehran chain stores have limited the sale of bottled water.

With the ongoing drought and water shortage crisis in Tehran, some chain stores in Tehran have rationed the sale of bottled water.

According to the news website Roydad24, recent images from the shelves of several stores show that a limit of one 15-liter bottle of mineral water per customer has been enforced.

Abbas Aliabadi, the Minister of Energy in the government of Pezeshkian, also stated on Saturday, November 15, that due to the severe reduction in the capital’s water resources, the situation in Tehran is so critical that the government must consider all possible measures if economically justified.
