China: Reactivating the Snapback Against Iran is Unconstructive

China says activating the snapback against Iran is a counterproductive move

The Chinese Foreign Ministry responded to the decision of the three European countries to activate the snapback mechanism, stating that reinstating UN sanctions against Iran is a counterproductive action.

Beijing emphasized that Iran’s nuclear issue is at a critical stage, and instead of increasing pressure, dialogues and negotiations should be resumed.

This stance was announced after France, Germany, and the United Kingdom initiated a 30-day process to reinstate UN sanctions against Iran due to allegations of violating the nuclear deal.
