China’s reaction to the plan to ban TikTok in the US: Washington’s logic is that of bandits
China, in response to the approval of a bill in the US House of Representatives that forces TikTok to sever ties with its Chinese parent company ByteDance, announced on Thursday, March 14, that the US is using bandit logic.
On Wednesday, the US House of Representatives passed a plan that gives ByteDance six weeks to transfer its US assets in TikTok to this country and sever its ties with the parent company; otherwise, the operation of this messenger in the United States will be banned.
Wang Wenbin, spokesperson for the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said in a regular press conference that the bill passed by the US House of Representatives places this country on the opposite side of the principles of fair competition and international economic and trade rules.
