Chinese President's Visit to Russia

Chinese President’s Visit to Russia

After mediating between Iran and Saudi Arabia, China is calling for a ceasefire and the start of peace talks in Ukraine.

Xi Jinping’s visit is a step in this direction without a clear prospect of peace. Xi Jinping, the President of China, a few weeks after Beijing unveiled a 12-point plan for peace in Ukraine, will arrive in Moscow on Monday, March 20th, to meet and talk with Vladimir Putin, the President of Russia.

In the past 10 years, this is the eighth time Xi Jinping has visited Russia.

During this three-day visit, Xi will meet and talk with his Russian counterpart, who is now wanted by the International Criminal Court on charges of war crimes, and an arrest warrant has been issued for him.
