CIA Chief’s Analysis on Iran’s Situation
On the 75th anniversary of the establishment of the Central Intelligence Agency, William Burns, the agency’s chief, had an important conversation with CBS.
He stated about the situation in Iran and the public protests that, according to existing analyses, these protests are not limited and rare movements but are more widespread than previous instances. He praised the courage of the Iranian people and referred to the violence and oppression in dealing with people demanding their civil rights.
William Burns, like several other US government officials, spoke about the Biden administration’s serious plan to improve Iranians’ access to internet services and the cycle of interaction and information exchange with the world.
