Claim by an Egyptian Source: Egypt Has Stationed a Charge d'Affaires at Ambassador Level in Iran

A claim by an Egyptian source states that Egypt has stationed a chargé d’affaires at the ambassador level in Iran.

An Egyptian source, speaking to the newspaper Asharq Al-Awsat, quoted former Egyptian Foreign Minister Mohamed El-Orabi as saying that the determining factors of Tehran-Cairo relations are different from those with other parties like Turkey. These relations currently appear normal, and Cairo has stationed a chargé d’affaires at the ambassador level in Iran for a long time.

Regional news sources, following the announcement of the establishment of relations between Tehran and Riyadh, which was mediated by China and previously by Oman and Iraq, reported that negotiations between Iran and Egypt have been ongoing simultaneously with negotiations between Cairo and Ankara, without any intermediaries.
