Close Battle Between the Right and Left Wings in Sweden’s Election
Today, the right and left wings of Sweden are engaged in a very close competition in the country’s parliamentary elections.
Voting has effectively started more than two weeks ago in Sweden, with Magdalena Andersson, the first female Prime Minister in Sweden’s history and leader of the left coalition, facing off against Ulf Kristersson, the moderate leader of Sweden’s right wing.
A significant aspect of this election is the rising popularity of the Sweden Democrats party, which, contrary to its name, is an extremist and strongly anti-immigrant party and is part of the right coalition. This right-wing coalition, which now poses a serious threat to Sweden’s left, has used the increase in crime and the exaggeration of immigrant-related issues in the country to significantly improve its position.
