Closure of Some Clinics in Iran Due to Lack of Doctors

Closure of some clinics in Iran due to lack of doctors

Abolhassan Mostafavi, a member of the Education and Research Commission of the Parliament, stated that we have a shortage of 12,000 doctors in the country, and 11,000 medical students have been admitted this year. However, it takes 8 years for these students to enter the job market. Therefore, due to the retirement and migration of some doctors annually, we will need more doctors in the coming years.

Due to the shortage of doctors, many of our clinics in the towns have closed after 40 years. Therefore, to address the doctor shortage, we are seeking to examine this issue in the commission to increase the capacity of the towns.
