Coercive Methods in Hijab Matter Have Been a Failed Experience

Mojtahedani’s force in the hijab issue is a failed experience

Fatemeh Mohajerani, the spokesperson for the Iranian government, today, October 21, in a press conference with journalists, in response to a question about the allocation of budget by the government for the establishment of a chastity and hijab room, said that the Supreme National Security Council is the highest authority for decision-making on major and security issues of the country, both in the social domain and in other major issues that relate to our national security.

Therefore, observing and implementing its resolutions is mandatory for everyone, and the government is also committed to this matter.

Ms. Mohajerani, quoting Masoud Pezeshkian, the President of Iran, reminded that the experience of using force to put or remove the hijab on Iranian women is a failed experience.

She emphasized that Masoud Pezeshkian’s government has not allocated any budget for the establishment of a situation room for chastity and hijab.

Previously, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, the Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, had announced that the Supreme National Security Council had ordered that the hijab law should not be announced for the time being.

However, recently Rouhollah Momen-Nasab, the secretary of the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice Headquarters of Tehran Province, has reported the formation of a situation room for chastity and hijab and the activation of 80,000 enforcers of virtue.
