Commander of the Sistan and Baluchestan Police Force Changed

The commander of the Sistan and Baluchestan police force has been changed.

On the eve of the fortieth day since the bloody Friday in Zahedan, Commander Mohammad Qanbari has been appointed as the police commander of Sistan and Baluchestan.

According to this decree, Ahmad Taheri, the police commander in Sistan and Baluchestan province, was removed from his position.

Forty days ago, on Friday, September 30, worshippers who had gathered to protest against the assault of a teenage girl by a police commander, after the sermons of Molavi Abdulhamid, were met with direct gunfire from security forces, resulting in the deaths of between 80 to 100 people and injuring dozens more.

Recently, the killing of protesters in Khash also made headlines.

Molavi Abdulhamid, the Friday prayer leader of Zahedan, who has been sharply critical of the Iranian government in recent weeks, had called for action against those responsible for this crime.
