Confirmation of the death of 2 people in an explosion at an IRGC center in Damghan

On the afternoon of Tuesday, May 2nd, an explosion occurred at one of the logistics and support centers of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in the outskirts of Damghan. According to the IRNA news agency, the public relations office of the IRGC in Damghan issued a statement saying that the explosion happened while separating and isolating surplus ammunition at this center.

The IRGC in Damghan announced that as a result of this explosion, 2 employees of this center were killed and 3 others were injured. Earlier, Fars News Agency had reported that this incident occurred during the relocation of ammunition there, and the cause is under investigation.

No further information about this explosion has been published in Iranian media yet. Similar incidents, including explosions or fires at military and security centers of the Islamic Republic, have occurred multiple times in the past.
