Conflict in the Provincial Bodybuilding Committee Elections

The defeated candidate in the East Azerbaijan Bodybuilding Committee elections accused the president of the Bodybuilding Federation of rigging the elections. The elections for the East Azerbaijan Bodybuilding and Fitness Committee were held last Thursday in Tabriz, and ultimately Maqsoud Nabilpour was elected as the new president of this committee with the majority of votes. In a situation where the elections went to a second round, Nabilpour was elected as the new president of the East Azerbaijan Bodybuilding Committee with 21 votes against Saeed Ronaghi’s 8 votes.

However, after the voting ended, Saeed Ronaghi, the defeated candidate in the elections and one of the bodybuilding champions of this province, approached Abdolmahdi Nasirzadeh, the president of the Bodybuilding Federation, and accused him of rigging the elections, shouting. While Nasirzadeh did not have a specific reaction to this individual’s accusations, one of the federation’s staff objected to Ronaghi for his behavior, to which Ronaghi responded with inappropriate language, throwing objects in his direction and leaving the assembly amidst a scuffle.
