Congress Members Request Action Against Iran’s Drone Industry

60 members of the U.S. Congress have written a letter to President Joe Biden and three of his cabinet ministers, urging them to target Iran’s drone program.

These representatives have expressed deep concern over reports indicating that Iranian-made drones, reviewed in Ukraine, contain parts manufactured in the United States.

The representatives have further requested the Biden administration to adopt a coordinated and comprehensive approach to cut off Iran’s supply chain, shut down shell companies aiding Iran in bypassing sanctions, and pressure U.S. allies in Europe and Asia to stop distributors of these parts.

The Congress members have stated that they believe this process has somewhat begun and is underway, but they have called for more targeted steps to be taken and plans for the future to be considered.
