Congressional Investigation Committee Accuse Trump Over Riot

The committee investigating last year’s attack on the U.S. Congress says former President Donald Trump should be formally charged, including with inciting insurrection against the government.

This committee, led by Democrats due to their majority in Congress but also including prominent Republicans, has unanimously voted for the U.S. Department of Justice to pursue criminal charges against Donald Trump.

The committee also played a video of Mr. Trump’s former advisor discussing the former president’s refusal to accept defeat in the election.

Mr. Trump’s supporters attacked the U.S. Congress on January 6, 2021, to prevent the certification of Joe Biden’s victory in the presidential election.
