Finland constructs a 200-kilometer barrier on the border shared with Russia
Less than two weeks after joining the NATO alliance, Finland has begun constructing a 200-kilometer barrier on its border with Russia.
According to Finnish officials, the purpose of this action is not to protect the country’s territory against a potential Russian attack.
On April 4th of this year, Finland joined the NATO alliance as its 31st member.
Now, just 10 days after joining NATO, the country has started the project to construct a barrier on its border with Russia.
It is said that this barrier is designed to be 200 kilometers long, 3 meters high, and equipped with barbed wire.
Meanwhile, the total length of Finland’s border with Russia exceeds 1,340 kilometers.
