Continued Contacts Between Iran and the U.S. Through Pakistan for Ceasefire Extension
A senior U.S. official has announced that consultations with Iran for extending the two-week ceasefire are still ongoing, and no formal agreement has been reached yet.
In an interview with the BBC, he emphasized that this ceasefire is set to end on April 22 and added that the United States has not yet formally agreed to extend the ceasefire.
The official also stated that interactions between the U.S. and Iran to reach an agreement are ongoing.
Meanwhile, Iran has also confirmed that indirect communications with Washington are continuing. According to Iranian officials, message exchanges between the two countries are taking place through Pakistan, and several messages have been exchanged between the parties since the end of the Islamabad talks.
These developments are occurring as diplomatic efforts to stabilize the ceasefire and pave the way for a new round of negotiations between the two countries continue.
