Continued Detention and Uncertainty About the Fate of Two Baloch Clerics

According to a report by Halwash News Agency, which specifically monitors issues and news related to the violation of Baloch rights in Iran, Reza Rakhshani and Abdolraouf Rakhshani, two brothers and Sunni clerics from Zahedan, remain in an uncertain situation despite 39 days having passed since their arrest.

As reported by Halwash, Reza Rakhshani was arrested on February 15, 2023, on one of the streets near Makki Mosque while returning home by intelligence forces who were in two vehicles.

Abdolraouf, the brother of this Sunni cleric, was also arrested at a checkpoint in the Social Security area of Zahedan, and since then, there has been no information about the status of either.

According to Halwash’s report, despite the family’s efforts to follow up, judicial and security officials have not provided a satisfactory response regarding their situation, which has increased the families’ concerns.
