The Ukrainian Football Federation has proposed removing Iran’s national team from the Qatar World Cup

The Ukrainian Football Federation has proposed removing Iran’s national team from the Qatar World Cup. It was seven days ago that the CEO of Ukraine’s Shakhtar Donetsk club made a strange statement, saying that their national football team should participate in the 2022 World Cup instead of Iran.

This does not mark the end of the Ukrainian football officials’ attempts to remove Iran’s national team from the World Cup. The Executive Committee of the Ukrainian Football Federation announced in a statement this Monday afternoon that it has requested FIFA to consider the proposal to remove Iran’s national football team from the Qatar World Cup.

Human rights violations and aiding Russia in the war against Ukraine are among the reasons the Ukrainian Football Federation has cited to demand the removal of our national team from the world’s most important football event.
