Criticism of Zakani’s son-in-law’s involvement in Tehran Municipality decisions

A member of the Tehran City Council’s Budget and Planning Commission announced that Hossein Heidari, the son-in-law of Alireza Zakani, the Mayor of Tehran, is involved in the decision-making processes of Tehran Municipality.

On Wednesday, April 19, Naser Amani told ILNA news agency that unfortunately, some reports reaching city council members indicate that Mr. Zakani’s son-in-law not only advises the mayor but also interferes in some municipal decision-making, which must certainly be stopped.

According to this city council member, Zakani recently confirmed in a meeting with council members that he proudly takes advice from his son-in-law.

In November 2021, following widespread criticism of Zakani’s action in appointing his son-in-law as a special advisor to the Mayor of Tehran, he was forced to revoke this decree.

Alongside this issue, a report and analysis titled ‘Corruption in Tehran Municipality Continues’ has been exclusively published on Iran Gate.
