Criticizing the Actions of the Police Force, Like Closing Streets

Ham-Mihan criticizes the actions of the police force, likening them to closing streets.

The Ham-Mihan newspaper criticized the police force’s actions related to enforcing mandatory hijab, writing that these actions are like closing streets because of the presence of women without such coverings and banning their passage.

In its Thursday editorial, the newspaper wrote that they want to pit people, shopkeepers, and business owners against each other, while such a thing is not feasible; no business person would do such a thing.

Ham-Mihan also wrote about the impounding of cars due to passengers not wearing the mandatory hijab, mentioning that Snap drivers, against their will, are caught up in problems that frustrate everyone and will gradually lead to protests.

Previously, Mehdi Nasiri, the former editor-in-chief of Kayhan newspaper, also criticized the government’s mandatory hijab policy, saying that the Islamic Republic wants to pit people against each other to enforce this policy.
