César Academy: Entry of Sexual Assault Accused Banned from This Year's Ceremony

César Academy bans individuals accused of sexual assault from this year’s event

The winners of the César Awards at the 2022 ceremony. The César Academy of France, equivalent to the Oscars, announced that in respect for the victims of sexual harassment, anyone facing potential sexual assault charges with a prison sentence will not be allowed to attend the ceremony.

The César Awards ceremony is scheduled to take place next month.

As a result, the ceremony will be held without the presence of Sofiane Bennacer, as his case is under investigation for rape charges, which he denies.

There was concern that Mr. Bennacer’s presence at the César Awards ceremony would lead to protests.
