Cyber Police: Messages about receiving Justice Shares dividends are fake
The Deputy of Cultural and Social Affairs of the Cyber Police warned citizens about fraud under the guise of receiving Justice Shares dividends
Colonel Ramin Pashaei stated on Friday that based on monitoring of cyberspace and reports received from citizens to the Cyber Police emergency center, it has been determined that cybercriminals, by monitoring the country’s news space and exploiting the name and credibility of the Justice Shares system, have been sending fake messages containing malicious links with the pretense of depositing or increasing Justice Shares dividends to the accounts of those left out.
He explained that these links can lead to the infection of the deceived person’s mobile phone, misuse of personal information, or unauthorized withdrawal from their account, and said that people should act wisely in response to such messages. One characteristic of identifying fake messages containing malicious links is that they are sent from personal and non-organizational phone numbers.
The Deputy of Cultural and Social Affairs of the Cyber Police continued that in this scam, fraudsters in the next stage of completing their criminal process direct applicants and the deceived to fake payment gateways and then proceed to withdraw from their accounts.
Pashaei emphasized that given the warnings and information provided by this police, citizens should maintain the necessary awareness and alertness and under no circumstances should they click on malicious links in such fake messages. Upon encountering suspicious cases, they should report the issue to the Cyber Police.
