Deadly drone attack with Iranian origin in northern Syria
The Pentagon has announced that in a drone attack on a facility at the anti-ISIS coalition forces base in northeastern Syria, an American contractor was killed and five American soldiers were injured.
In a statement late on Thursday, the U.S. Department of Defense said that the U.S. intelligence community has concluded that this unmanned aircraft had Iranian origins.
U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin stated that U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) retaliated with precise airstrikes against facilities in eastern Syria used by a group affiliated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
