Death of a Hundred Afghan Migrants in Turkey Earthquake

Death of one hundred Afghan migrants in Turkey earthquake

Zia Ahmad Takal, the deputy spokesperson for the Taliban’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has stated that as a result of the earthquake two days ago in Turkey, at least 100 Afghan citizens have been killed or injured.

Mr. Takal told BBC that the reports we have received indicate that nearly 100 Afghans have been martyred or injured in Turkey, and at the same level, one hundred Afghan houses have been destroyed. This figure is still not accurate and is changing over time.

The Afghan embassy in Ankara has also confirmed the casualties of Afghans in this devastating earthquake, but said that the exact statistics are not yet available.

Hundreds of thousands of Afghan migrants live in Turkey, and with the dimensions of the recent destructive earthquake becoming clear, concerns about the situation of millions of refugees in this country are also increasing.

According to the latest statistics, in this earthquake in Turkey and Syria, approximately eleven thousand confirmed deaths and tens of thousands of others have been injured.
