Debate Over Debate

Donald Trump and Kamala Harris have ultimately disagreed on the date and host for their debate, with Trump showing significant concern about the current state of the 2024 election race. The second scheduled debate between him and Biden was supposed to be hosted by ABC on September 10th, but Trump now wants it to be held on September 4th. Trump, who has been attacking ABC and its hosts in his speeches and interviews for several days, even escalating these attacks to bizarre and ugly insults, has laid the groundwork for insisting that the debate be hosted by Fox. He announced this demand with new conditions, wanting a debate not just with an audience present, but in front of a massive crowd in a large stadium or hall. It seems that Trump, seeing no way back, has found the only solution to be a grand show that would be supported by his friendly network, allowing him to say whatever he wants without any control. So far, Harris and her campaign have not accepted these demands and have announced that she will be present at the pre-agreed location for the debate on September 10th, and Trump can come if he wishes.
