Decline in Digital Life Quality in Iran

The Etemad newspaper wrote that currently, the main issues in the communication and information network include three areas: disruption in internet access, extensive filtering, and low internet connection speed.

Extensive filtering has made the use of VPNs inevitable, an occurrence that, besides imposing hefty costs, has increased the vulnerability of users’ digital communication devices and raised the risk of information security breaches and cyber attacks on businesses.

According to the internet quality report published by the Tehran Electronic Commerce Association, Iran ranks 47th out of 50 countries in terms of internet disruption. Iran is ranked 49th in the internet restriction index and is in the last place in the internet speed index.
