Deputy Minister of Justice: Less than one percent of Iranians abroad have security issues
Askar Jalalian, Deputy for Human Rights and International Affairs at the Ministry of Justice, stated that according to official and research statistics, about 5 million Iranians and according to unofficial statistics between 8 to 10 million Iranians are living abroad. We all believe that those Iranians who might have security issues are less than one percent and are very few, and even those issues can be resolved.
He further mentioned that in the discussion of providing legal services to Iranians abroad, the Parsman and Mikhak systems in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Sana system in the Judiciary, along with other established systems, should be reviewed. Of course, in the text of the bill, with amendments made to the first 8 articles, obligations have been created for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Judiciary to provide services and establish necessary databases and portals, adhering to higher-level laws. There is no problem in this area.
Regarding the issue of entry bans, Jalalian said that neither the constitution, nor reason, nor religious law allows a country’s citizen to be banned from entry for any reason. One of the bases of citizenship worldwide is the land, and an Iranian citizen cannot be prevented from entering the country. Even if they are a criminal, the law must address it, and the framework is clear.
