Deputy Minister of Roads: Presence of Hijab Monitors at Airports Follows Regulations
The Deputy Minister of Roads and Urban Development stated that the presence of hijab monitors at the country’s airports is subject to the country’s laws and regulations. These individuals are selected by the Headquarters for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice, and in all guidance and law enforcement sections, individuals’ behavior is governed by established regulations.
The CEO of Iran Airports and Air Navigation Company also responded to an ILNA question regarding the presence of hijab monitors at the country’s airports, the selection process for these individuals, and the necessary training for them on how to interact with passengers, especially given the overlap of Nowruz and Ramadan. He emphasized that the presence of hijab monitors at the country’s airports is subject to the country’s laws and regulations. These individuals are selected by the Headquarters for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice, and in all guidance and law enforcement sections, individuals’ behavior is governed by established regulations.
The Deputy Minister of Roads and Urban Development noted that these individuals should naturally be trained and said that they must be trained on how to interact with passengers, ensuring that interactions with passengers are within the framework of Islamic decorum, and so far, no conflicts have occurred.
There is also no law prohibiting the entry of unveiled passengers into the airplane.
