Takht-Ravanchi: Despite the Parliament’s resolution, our cooperation with the Agency continues
Majid Takht-Ravanchi, the Deputy Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic, in an interview with NBC regarding the suspension of cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency, said that the Parliament’s resolution does not mean that we are going to cut our cooperation with the Agency.
The Deputy Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic, referring to the Parliament’s law to suspend cooperation with the Agency, emphasized that there are clauses in that law that can provide a space for our cooperation with the Agency.
Majid Takht-Ravanchi added that it is the Supreme National Security Council that will determine the path of our future cooperation with the Agency. Our ambassador in Vienna is in contact with the Agency’s Director General and conveys these matters to him.
In response to the question about what happened to the 400 kilograms of 60% enriched uranium, whether Iran still possesses it,
he said that before the Israeli attack, inspectors had access to the sites where the highly enriched uranium was located, so they were fully aware of the status of these materials.
Right now, I don’t know where those materials are, and I can’t say where they are. I can only say that before the attack, inspectors had access to those materials and were inspecting them.
Takht-Ravanchi also said regarding the movement of enriched uranium or part of it before the U.S. attack, I cannot provide more information than what I have already told you.
I am not in that position, I am not a specialist in this matter, I don’t know where those materials are.
