Discussion between Pezeshkian and Macron in New York about the Agency and the Snapback Mechanism

The presidents of Iran and France met and talked on Wednesday, September 23, on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly.

Continued cooperation between Tehran and the International Atomic Energy Agency and the snapback mechanism were among the topics discussed by Masoud Pezeshkian and Emmanuel Macron.

Emmanuel Macron had previously stated that he would meet with the Iranian president on Wednesday to discuss the snapback mechanism.

Macron emphasized that the coming hours would be decisive for the role of the International Atomic Energy Agency regarding Iran.

On Tuesday, he said that either Iran takes action and returns to the path of peace and accountability, or the snapback mechanism must be applied.
