Dina Ghalibaf Arrested After Sharing Her Violent Arrest Story Due to Hijab

Dina Ghalibaf was arrested after publishing the account of her violent arrest due to hijab.

According to information released on social media, security forces arrested Dina Ghalibaf, a journalist and student activist, at her home and transferred her to an unknown location.

The detaining authority and the reason for Ms. Ghalibaf’s arrest are unknown.

Yesterday, Dina Ghalibaf wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter, about her experience of being violently arrested by the morality police at Sadeghieh metro.

Yesterday, in the police room at Sadeghieh metro station, when I insisted that I pay taxes and have the right to use the metro, they took me to a room with violence and tasered me.

Dina Ghalibaf, born in 2000, is a political science undergraduate at Shahid Beheshti University. She was barred from continuing her education by the disciplinary committee due to her participation in student protests in 2022 and 2023. She has collaborated with HamMihan, EghtesadOnline, and the monthly magazine Khatt-e Solh.
