Director General of Cultural Heritage of Isfahan: 100 Historical Coins Discovered in the Courtyard of Kamar Zarin Mosque

The Director General of Cultural Heritage of Isfahan: So far, 100 historical coins have been discovered in the vicinity of the Kamar Zarrin Mosque.

Amir Karmazadeh, the Director General of Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts of Isfahan Province, announced on Monday, September 10th, the discovery of 100 historical coins in the area in front of the Kamar Zarrin Mosque. According to Karmazadeh, 35 coins were discovered in just one day, and this concentration of artifacts strengthens the possibility of a trading house existing in this area.

Karmazadeh, in an interview with IRNA, stated that most of these coins belong to Islamic periods, but determining their exact age requires laboratory examinations.

According to this report, the permit for the first round of excavation for this historical area was issued for 40 days, but given the volume of discovered artifacts, this permit has been extended.
