Discussion between the US and European Troika foreign ministers about Iran’s nuclear program

The European Troika foreign ministers held a phone call with Marco Rubio, the US Secretary of State, to discuss Iran’s nuclear issue.

The US State Department announced that Marco Rubio, the US Secretary of State, discussed Iran with his counterparts from France, Germany, and the United Kingdom.

In a brief statement released by the US State Department, it was stated that Jean-Noël Barrot, the French Foreign Minister, Johann Wadephul, the German Foreign Minister, and David Lammy, the British Foreign Minister, all emphasized their commitment to ensuring that Iran never produces or acquires a nuclear weapon.

Western diplomats say that the three European countries are set to reimpose sanctions on Iran due to the violation of the 2015 nuclear agreement and are demanding that UN inspectors be given access to enrichment sites.
