Displaying posts liked by users on platform X will be stopped.
Social network X has officially confirmed that it plans to soon stop showing posts liked by users on their personal pages.
Haofi Wang, the head of engineering at X, responded to a user who mentioned this issue by saying, ‘Yes, we are making likes private. Public display of likes encourages inappropriate behavior. For example, many people might refrain from liking content that could be provocative out of fear of trolls or to protect their public image.’
He further explained, ‘Soon, you will be able to like posts without worrying about who might see it. I also want to remind you that the more posts you like, the better the For You algorithm will display content for you.’
In fact, with this change, you will no longer be able to see posts liked by other people, which means the removal of the ‘Liked’ tab from public profiles.
