Disruption Marks the Beginning of the End for the Internet

Disruption is the beginning of the end for the internet

Among the list of concerns and anxieties created for people, one constant worry is whether they can connect to the internet today or not. If they connect in the morning, will they still be able to at noon? Are the proxies working or not? Is today’s bandwidth worse or will it be worse tomorrow?

Shargh newspaper wrote about this situation, stating that these days there is no individual or company that hasn’t faced internet disruptions and is hiding their concern about what will happen to the virtual space in the future.

Shahram Sharif, editor of IT Iran, also said that we should distinguish between disruption and filtering. In recent years, we see that disruption is practically being turned into a form of filtering, which, at least socially, seems to have a lower cost compared to filtering.

In this regard, Gholamreza Nouri Ghezeljeh, a member of parliament, also says that as long as we consider the internet as a problem and intend to confront it, we cannot succeed in this field. The mindset of limiting and blocking in hopes of getting rid of the internet leads nowhere and will not succeed.
