The dollar reached its highest level in the past 6 months
Amid rising tensions in the Middle East and the increasing likelihood of a retaliatory Israeli attack against Iran, the selling price of each US dollar in Monday’s trading on Tehran’s free market reached 65,000 tomans, which is the highest rate since last April 21 and follows the first missile and drone attack by the Islamic Republic on Israeli soil.
At the same time, each euro was sold for as much as 70,550 tomans.
Following the continued rise in global gold prices and further weakening of the rial against foreign currencies, each complete gold coin was traded at 56 million tomans on Monday, marking a new historical record in Tehran’s market. The price of each gram of 18-carat gold also reached 4,330,000 tomans.
The global gold price rose by another 17 dollars on Monday, setting a new record of 2,737 dollars. A barrel of Brent crude oil also saw a 1 dollar price increase on Monday, trading at 74 dollars and 6 cents.
