The former U.S. President says the charges brought by the special prosecutor of the Justice Department regarding his supporters’ attack on the Capitol building in 2021 could result in more than 500 years of imprisonment for him.

The new indictment by the U.S. Justice Department against former President Donald Trump, in the case of his involvement in his supporters’ attack on the Capitol building on January 6, 2021, was met with a strong reaction from Trump.

On Wednesday night, Trump claimed in a statement that the charges brought against him under this indictment could result in more than 500 years of imprisonment for him.

It was yesterday that Jack Smith, the special prosecutor of the U.S. Justice Department, brought multiple charges against Trump, including attempting to retain power after losing the 2020 election through illegal actions such as inciting supporters to attack the Capitol building.

According to reports, it is expected that the former U.S. President will appear in a court in Washington on August 3.
