Dutch Research Institute Journalists Targeted by Israeli Tank

Dutch research institute journalists were targeted by an Israeli tank

The Netherlands Organization for Applied Scientific Research reported that the crew of an Israeli tank in October fired two shells at a group of journalists who were clearly identifiable, killing a Reuters journalist and then likely fired at them with a heavy machine gun for one minute and 45 seconds.

The report by this organization, commissioned by Reuters to analyze evidence related to the killing of Reuters photojournalist Issam Abdullah on October 13, confirms that a tank fired two 120mm shells at journalists 134 kilometers from Israel.

According to this report, the first shell killed 37-year-old Issam Abdullah and severely injured 28-year-old AFP photographer Christina Assi.
