Ebrahim Raisi: The government is willing to listen to protesters and dissenters, but protest is different from chaos and disorder

Ebrahim Raisi stated that the government is open to listening to protesters and opponents, but there is a difference between protest and chaos and unrest.

Ebrahim Raisi further said that unrest hinders both dialogue and any form of development, and people expect it to be dealt with decisively.

While more than two months have passed since the nationwide protests in Iran, the government and security agencies repeatedly describe these protests as chaos and unrest, claiming they are linked to foreign countries.

Raisi’s statements come as the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights described the current situation in Iran as critical, stating that it has led to the death of over 300 people in the past two months.

Some news sources, like the human rights news agency HRANA, part of the Human Rights Activists in Iran, have reported the number of deaths in the nationwide protests to be 419 as of Sunday, November 20th.
