Ebrahim Raisi will give a speech on December 7th at the University of Tehran.
The state news agency IRNA says that Ebrahim Raisi will visit the University of Tehran in two days, on Wednesday, December 7th, on the occasion of Student Day.
Meanwhile, universities in Iran, including the University of Tehran, have witnessed widespread student protests over the past three months.
The government usually mobilizes participants aligned with itself for such ceremonial speeches during crises and tries to prevent protesting students from entering the hall or venue as much as possible.
Now, given the start of a three-day call by protesters to mark Student Day, which is expected to peak on the last day, Wednesday, December 7th, the presence of Iran’s president at the University of Tehran, historically a focal point of student protests in the country, might lead to the formation of a security atmosphere and repression in the center of the capital and around the University of Tehran.
