The media group Hal Vash has reported the death of 24-year-old Ebrahim Rigi, one of those detained during the recent protests.

Rigi had been released on bail on Wednesday, February 22, but after being detained by officers from Police Station 12 and severely beaten inside the station, he died.

The judge of the special murder branch, Mr. Jahantigh, the duty judge, and the forensic medicine confirmed that Ebrahim Rigi died due to the beating that occurred inside Police Station 12.

Even the forensic medicine officers, after attending Police Station 12, examining the body, and observing Ebrahim’s torn clothes, confirm that he lost his life due to the beating.

The officers of Police Station 12 and Zahedan’s intelligence are trying to prevent Rigi’s family from pursuing the case.

Ebrahim Rigi’s family has refused to accept the body, which is now at Zahedan’s forensic medicine, and they have issued an order for an autopsy to determine the cause of his death.
